Scholars differ on some assets
Opinions differ between schools of thought on things such as jewellery you wear, long-term shares, retirement funds and debts. Where this happens, the site explains the difference and gives the more cautious option by default. Follow the view of your own scholar or madhab.
Prices change
Nisab depends on today's gold or silver price. Rates shown on the site are international market rates. Your local jeweller's price can be different, so check the price before you rely on the result, and edit the rate box if needed.
Quran quotations
Verses are quoted in Arabic with their surah and verse number. Translations give the meaning only and are not the Quran itself. You can check any verse on quran.com.
No money is handled
Zakat Compass never collects, holds or passes on zakat or any other money. It is not connected with any charity, government or zakat body. You decide how much to pay and to whom.
